Shopify Plus B2B Companies vs wholesale app: catalogs stay on Plus. VIES and per-customer prices sit on OO B2B & Wholesale.

Plus B2B companies or a wholesale app

A distributor on Grow has a different price per trade account. A French buyer types an EU VAT number and expects the tax to drop. Someone on Plus already has catalogs and deposits. “Shopify Plus B2B Companies vs a wholesale app” is which of those jobs you are in.

The app in the second column is OO ‑ B2B & Wholesale. It does not replace Plus catalogs. The tax flow is in a VIES checklist. This page is the plan boundary.

Quote these before you pick an app

  • Shopify B2B is not on Starter and not on Retail. It is on Basic, Grow, Advanced, and Plus.

  • Companies, quantity rules, quantity price breaks, net terms, and quick order are native on all four of those plans. An app that claims to be the only way to get them is wrong.

  • More than three active catalog assignments across B2B markets, or a catalog assigned straight to a company location, is Plus. Basic, Grow, and Advanced stop at 3.

  • Deposits, partial payments, and a payment request per fulfillment are Plus. Do not let an app “replace Plus” on those rows.

  • Intra-EU reverse charge with a VIES check and a log is not a row in the B2B feature table.

  • A price per customer, tag, or company, without a Plus catalog on that location, has to be named on the app listing and in its module map.

  • A public registration form with approve or reject is not the same as creating a company in admin.

  • A VAT field inside checkout is not a promise off Plus. On other plans the check sits on the cart or in the drawer.

Two columns, one Help table

Shopify Help — B2B features by plan, read on 4 November 2026. The same catalog on two active B2B markets uses two of the three assignments. Direct assignment to a company location is the Plus path for customer-level prices. Grow cannot do that natively. That is the gap the OO listing fills with company blocks.

When the Plus (or Grow) admin is the whole answer

Skip the app when this picture is true.

You are on Plus, or you are on Basic, Grow, or Advanced and three catalog assignments are enough. Every trade price fits a catalog: which products, which price, which quantity break. You do not need an intra-EU VAT check with a log. Buyers are created in admin, not through a form on the storefront. Net terms, a PO field, and quick order from Help cover the order.

Plus wins there. Unlimited catalogs, a catalog on a location, deposits, and partial payments are Help facts. The module map does not claim them. This app does not replace Shopify Plus B2B.

Native is also enough for a domestic order where tax stays on. The FAQ says the opposite of “every EU number goes to 0%”: a foreign number is validated and tax comes off where the rule allows it; a domestic number is validated and tax stays. Goods shipped from outside the EU are outside that reverse charge. The FAQ says you need an EU fulfillment location.

Help does not fill two gaps. On Basic, Grow, and Advanced you cannot pin a catalog to one company location, and you get three active assignments. A price per account hits that wall without Plus. The OO listing puts company blocks and unlimited custom pricing on Starter, $22 a month or $220 a year. VIES plus logs, prices including or excluding VAT, and login-to-see-price are on that same card, and they are not rows in the B2B table. A VAT field inside checkout is a Plus limit of Shopify, according to the FAQ. On other plans the form is on the cart. A drawer ignores the theme block; the fix is a snippet in the drawer file. That is a theme edit, not a checkout replacement.

Plans on the listing, 4 November 2026

Built for Shopify. Launched 9 February 2024. Listing language: English.

Free: one custom pricing rule, one registration form with approve or reject, Flow templates. Development stores have no caps. The module map matches: one active price list and one active form. Extra forms are stored. Only the oldest active form in each module is used on the storefront.

Starter, $22/month or $220/year (17% off): unlimited custom pricing, unlimited volume pricing, company blocks, unlimited registration forms, EU tax exemption (VIES and logs), tax display incl. or excl. VAT, login to see prices. 14-day trial.

Growth, $37/month or $370/year: everything in Starter, plus bulk forms, draft checkout, repeat order, quote request, AI formulas for quotes, order limits (MOQ, max, weight), and a wholesale cart with extra fields and fees. 14-day trial.

Some modules share an app embed. Others want a theme block. A new theme keeps the configuration, but you add the block again.

Reviews, including the one four-star you cannot see here

On 4 November 2026 the listing is 5.0 from 34 reviews: 33 fives, one four, and zeros on 3, 2, and 1. The four-star text was not in the three newest cards, so it is not paraphrased here. Those cards:

  • 6 October 2026, Sensorkranenwinkel.nl (Netherlands): reverse charge works; support replies quickly. No developer reply on that card.

  • 11 June 2026, POPlab Sounds (Germany): renaming a note field lines up with bookkeeping.

  • 21 April 2026, Rohleder AT (Austria): FAQ and chatbot called useful; price called fair; translation built in.

The single four belongs in the weight. The wording of it does not get invented. Check the listing before you cite the count.

The install, when the gap is yours

Plus wins when catalogs, deposits, and a catalog per location are the whole requirement. On Grow or Basic, with a price per customer and a VIES log, the card that names those rows wins: OO ‑ B2B & Wholesale. Starter at $22 for VIES and company blocks. Growth at $37 once quotes and bulk forms are must-haves. The app fills those gaps. It does not take over Plus catalogs.
