e-Boekhouden for OSS (One-Stop Shop)

What is the OSS Scheme?

Since July 1, 2021, the OSS scheme (One Stop Shop) has been active. This scheme simplifies VAT reporting for businesses that sell goods or digital services to private customers within the EU. Instead of filing VAT returns separately in each EU country, you can handle it centrally via the OSS scheme.

You are eligible if your annual turnover to private customers in other EU countries exceeds €10,000.

Configuring e-Boekhouden.nl for OSS

1. Create a General Ledger Account for Each EU Country

For each EU country you sell to, you need to create a separate ledger account:

1. Navigate to Beheer > Inrichting > Grootboekrekeningen.

2. Click Toevoegen to add a new ledger account.

3. Choose a suitable number within the 1600 series (e.g., 1640) and give the account a clear name, such as: “Btw België (OSS)”.

4. Set the category to Balans.

5. Save the ledger account.

Repeat this process for each EU country you sell to via OSS.

Setting Up OSS in the Shopify Integration

If you use our integration to connect your Shopify store to e-Boekhouden, you also need to configure OSS there:

1. Open the e-Boekhouden Koppeling app in your account.

2. Click Settings.

3. Go to the step: “How do you want to handle VAT for orders to private customers in other EU countries (One-Stop Shop, OSS)?”

4. Select: “Yes, use the One-Stop Shop scheme.”

5. A new step will appear: “Link the correct ledger account to each EU country.” Here, link the appropriate ledger account you created earlier. For example:

   • Belgium → 1640 – Btw België (OSS)

   • Germany → 1641 – Btw Duitsland (OSS)

Repeat this for each country in which you have OSS sales.
